In February, AGUIA carried out an infrastructure inspection of road AC-163, along the section connecting Sada and Mera, with the goal of identifying pavement damage using automated image recognition technology.
The process involved capturing aerial imagery with a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise drone, followed by data analysis, validation, Pavement Condition Index (PCI) calculation, and interpretation of the results.
A total of 10.51 km were inspected, during which various types of pavement defects were identified, including potholes, ravelling, edge cracks, longitudinal and transverse cracks, patches, alligator cracking, and stripping.
The operation was deemed successful due to the efficiency of the fieldwork and the consistency of the results, further demonstrating the value of AGUIA’s solutions for the smart management of critical infrastructure.
