AGUIA Analítica Avanzada has successfully completed the three tracks of the BFAero programme —Incubation (4th edition), Acceleration (5th edition) and Consolidation (6th edition)— positioning itself as one of Galicia’s most promising startups in the field of drones and artificial intelligence applied to infrastructure management.
The company began its journey in 2022, when it was selected for the Incubation track of the 4th edition, where it developed the first prototype of SPA – Smart Pavement Analytics, a solution that uses drones and AI to detect cracks, potholes and other pavement defects, generate georeferenced orthomosaics, and calculate condition indices in line with international standards.
After completing this phase, AGUIA continued its progress during the 5th edition, strengthening its technology and presence within the Galician aerospace and UAV ecosystem.
In 2025, the company took another significant step forward by being selected for the Consolidation track of the 6th edition, aimed at mature projects ready to scale commercially. This milestone reflects AGUIA’s evolution from an initial prototype to a market-ready, cutting-edge solution.
BFAero—an initiative promoted by the regional government of Galicia to drive innovation in the aerospace and unmanned vehicle sector—has provided AGUIA with funding, specialised mentoring and access to key infrastructures that have accelerated its development.
AGUIA’s journey through all three BFAero tracks highlights the strength and potential of SPA, a technology that is transforming road-infrastructure inspection and that has recently earned national recognition, including the 2025 Innovation Award from the Spanish Association of Aeronautical Engineers (COIAE).
